As summer arrives and brings with it the 15th anniversary of Newco Design Build LLC, it is only fitting that the company throws a summer party for the employees and their families.

The Newco warehouse and outside space was filled to the brim with fun and excitement for all generations of Newco to enjoy.
In true Newco fashion, everything was thought through to make sure the adults and their kids were able to have fun. There were multiple bounce houses, face painting, basketball hoops, and an inside movie theater with candy and popcorn for excited (and slightly rambunctious) kids to put their energy into.

There was also plenty of fun to be had for the adults, probably after a few Newco-themed cocktails at the Blox-built bar.
They could dominate on the pickleball courts or try their hand at the cornhole tournament that took place throughout the party. The Newco family can become quite competitive when it comes to games, so of course there was a surprise prize for the winners: custom Newco cornhole boards made by their very own woodshop.

Although the party was set up for fun and letting go, it was also a time of reflection for some people that have been with Newco since the beginning. As Chris VanDoeselaar, the founder and CEO of Newco, looked around the party at the many different people and generations celebrating, he explained that what the company has become is “unbelievable,” and that he “didn’t expect it to get this far.”
So, what is Newco’s secret to success? It seems to be a genuine and common-sense approach to treat everyone like they are a part of the family. After all, the summer party was curated to “show appreciation for Newco families,” said Burton Cardwell, Director of Business Development. Employees all have lives outside of work and deserve to celebrate and have fun with their loved ones who have supported them at Newco. Chris wanted them to know that “we appreciate them as part of the greater Newco family.”

As the sun finally came out and food and drinks were had, it was time for the tables to turn and for everyone to get their shot at dunking their boss. If they spent a little cash, they received three balls and three chances to have Chris dropped in a dunk tank with the hit of a button. To his surprise, the adults and their kids had fun taking turns throwing balls at a target, excitedly watching the boss get soaked.
Even though the dunk tank was a lighthearted way for Newco families to poke fun, the cash and the splash went toward the Newco Gives Back foundation, which raises money for various charities, many times of the employees’ own choosing. Of course, the dunk tank was fun, but it was also a way to get the Newco family to raise money for their communities.

Newco Design Build LLC has grown incredibly over the past 15 years, and everyone involved, whether directly or indirectly, is greatly appreciated. Not only does the company do amazing work, but they also care about the communities in and around them, finding unique ways to show everyone that their work and support doesn’t go unnoticed.
To many more years of doing great and true work, of supporting their amazing employees, and of uplifting the communities around them!
